WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

A convicted sex offender from Wichita has been sentenced to more than 50 years in prison for kidnapping and assaulting his girlfriend.

A judge on Friday sentenced 54-year-old Cletis O'Quinn to 620 months for aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual battery and aggravated battery. A jury found him guilty of those charges last March.

The Sedgwick County DA's office says the attack, in 2015, included O’Quinn choking his girlfriend until she was unconscious two separate times.

At the time of the attack, O'Quinn was on parole for a 1989 case in which he was convicted of the same crimes. The victim in that case was a young girl working in a Wichita convenience store.

O'Quinn was paroled on the 1989 case in 2007, and Department of Corrections records show several arrest  warrants issued since.
