The Kansas DUI Impact Center has closed its office in downtown Wichita. But the reason for the closure remains unknown.

KAKE News has reached out to the director of the Center but there has been no response at this time.

The non-profit provided services to victims of DUI and organized DUI victim panels.

"It's been brought to my attention, just recently, that the DUI Impact Center was no longer putting on these panels, or there was a problem putting on these panels," said Sedgwick County District Court Judge Eric Williams.

Attending a DUI victim panel is a requirement for people who have convictions or probations related to driving under the influence in Sedgwick County.

Volunteers are trying to organize new DUI victim panels at the Riverwalk Church of Christ, 225 N Waco, at the corner of First Street and Waco.

The panels are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on the following dates: January 23, February 6 and 27, March 13 and 27.

It is $85 to attend and they will only accept cash and money orders.

To register for a panel, email [email protected], or register on the dates listed above.
