Shockers vs. Sooners has different meaning for Shaq Morris

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Shocker redshirt senior Shaq Morris grew up in Edmond, Okla. just about 35 miles north of the University of Oklahoma.

He helped Memorial High School win the Class 6A title as a senior averaging 20 points and nearly nine rebounds a game.

Of course he enjoyed the moment last year in Oklahoma City when the Shockers took down the Sooners and one of the main reasons is because when he was a youngster he was a fan of the Crimson and Cream.

"When I was in high school you know they kind of recruited me, didn't recruit me, wanted me to be like a little secret or whatever," Morris said. "I wanted to go there really bad ever since I was really young so this one, even more than the O-State means a lot to try to go out there, compete hard and get a win."

Morris had seven points, six rebounds and five blocks in last year's 76-73 win.
