Wichita police are searching for suspects in the Sunday evening shooting death of a 26-year-old man and wounding of another.

Officers were first called at around 8 a.m. to a shooting in the 1600 block of South Green. The found an 25-year-old man who had been shot in the leg. That person was hospitalized for treatment.

Minutes later, police received another report of a shooting in the 2600 block of East Wilma, a few blocks from the first shooting. Officers arrived to find the victim, Ralondo Holt, had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lt. Todd Ojile said Holt was at a home visiting friends when unknown individuals entered the house and shot him. The suspects ran for the home and have not been located.

At a vigil Tuesday night, Holt's mother remembered her son as a father, musician and leader.

"He did the most of his most. He lived at his pace, and he did what he wanted to do and was a great leader," said LaShonda Hinson.

Holt had trouble in the past and spent time behind bars for drug convictions. But he had a clean record after his release three years ago. She feared that his troubled past may have come back to haunt him.

"He had some associates but he also had some very true and loyal friends," Hinson said. "Those that you see in the cold could be the one. But at this time, we just want to honor those that are really true and loyal by being able to share it with them."

She used the vigil to thank his friends and family but she also pleaded for the shootings in Wichita to stop.

"Lives matter period, whatever color you are," she said. "And this violence among one another just really needs to stop."

Lt. Ojile said both victims knew each other and the shootings were likely connected. Anyone with information is urged to call the WPD homicide section at (316) 268-4182 or Crime Stoppers at (316) 267-2111.

Holt's death was Wichita's third homicide of the weekend and 36th of the year, which includes the death of 3-year-old Evan Brewer. Police on Monday announced arrests in the case.
