WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

A man charged with first-degree murder for a deadly shooting inside a Wichita restaurant is competent to stand trial, a judge ruled on Friday.

Jonah Tausche, 21, is accused of fatally shooting Tan Van Vu inside Bida Saigon at 3832 East Harry last November. Tausche was also charged with possession of cocaine and criminal possession of a firearm.

Lt. Todd Ojile said Tausche went the restaurant for about two prior to the shooting and was wandering around the pool hall area.

"There was no disturbance, no arguments, no fights whatsoever when the suspect just suddenly pulled out a weapon, shooting and killing the victim," Lt. Ojile said.

Tausche's preliminary hearing is scheduled for December 19.

An internet search revealed that the restaurant has permanently closed.
