Authorities say two people are dead following a standoff Monday morning at a home in Topeka.

Officers were called at around 10:40 a.m. to a domestic incident in the 1100 block of High Avenue. KTKA reports they observed a suspect with a gun and heard multiple shots being fired.

Officers and SWAT attempted to make contact inside the house, but were unsuccessful. A remote robot was used to enter the house, where two people were found dead.

Police also said on Twitter that one person involved was removed from the front porch of the home.

Topeka Public Schools said Randolph Elementary School was put in a “secure campus” due to the incident.

Additional information was not immediately available.
