(KAKE) -

Wichita police have identified a mother and son found dead in their home. Their bodies were found late Saturday night in east Wichita.

Officers were called around 11 p.m. to a home in the 7500 block of East Huntington – near Douglas and Rock. A woman says she came home from work and found her mother, 62, and her brother, 23, dead. They had been shot.

Police on Monday identified the victims as Houng Pham, 62, and Cody Ha, 23. Both lived at the home.

Those who knew the victims said they are in shock over their deaths.

He's (Cody) always been one of the nicest, inclusive, down to earth persons I've ever met," said Cody's friend Tommy Ong. "If I knew a person that would never get upset, It'd have to be him, because he'd always keep a cool temper."

Police said someone went to the victims' home on Saturday night and shot them. Ha's friends were on a group call with him when they heard the commotion.

"We just talk to each other late at night just to catch up with each other. We all share like similar interests. It so happened that Cody was just doing something. He answered the door and that's when it happened."

While police search for clues, friends hope for answers.

"I'm hoping that his father and his sister especially...may they recover from this. May they be able to move on."

Anyone with information is asked to call Wichita police or Crime Stoppers at (316) 267-2111.

Pham's and Ha's deaths were Wichita's 29th and 30th homicides of the year. The city's 31st and 32nd occurred the following day. Read more on those stories via the links below.
