Andale prepares for 4A-D1 title tilt with Bishop Miege

Undefeated Andale is back in the state championship game as the Tribe will try to win their first title since 2014.

Saturday they will take on one of the top teams in the state regardless of classification as Bishop Miege looks to win a fourth straight championship. But Andale is hopeful to end that streak.

"They've got a lot of great athletes but we have a lot of great athletes too and we're going to go out there and work hard and really we're focused on, we hit hard and be physical and try to be a little bit more physical team so we're going to give it all we got," senior receiver and defensive back Peyton Niemann said.

"Miege is a great football team and obviously they play a 5A, 6A schedule and so they've beat, you know, two of the teams, the 5A representative on the East and the 6A. We're going to have to play our game, we're going to have to be able to run the football and we've created turnovers all year round, we're going to have to be able to do that. It's a big challenge but that's what happens in a state football game. You have to be ready for that. So I think our kids are and we're excited about the opportunity," head coach Dylan Schmidt added.

They will kick-off at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Topeka.
