Armed man robs Jimmy John's in northwest Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Police are searching for a man who robbed a Jimmy John's in northwest Wichita on Sunday.

Officers were called at around 10 p.m. to an armed robbery at the restaurant at 10758 West 21st Street North. A 22-year-old employee told police a man entered the business, pointed a handgun at employees and demanded money.

The suspect left the business with about $1,600. No one was hurt. 

Officer Charley Davidson described the suspect as a fair-skinned white man standing about six feet tall and weighing 280 pounds. He wore a dark blue hoodie, black pants, black gloves and a black ski mask. He also had a black backpack. 

Police are reviewing surveillance video and ask that anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at (316) 267-2111.

    Don't expect long lines if you want to see the newest Star Wars movie on this opening weekend. The theaters are packed, but it didn't take fans long to get in Thursday night at West Warren Theater in Wichita. Many fans came, but paid for their tickets online.
