'Agent Orange': Tonight at 6 & 10

Posted: Updated:

As many Vietnam veterans boarded on a plane, they thought they were leaving the war behind. Little did many know they would soon face impacts caused from the war.

It's called "Agent Orange." Millions of gallons of it was sprayed throughout Vietnam to get through the heavily-forested area. Many veterans exposed to the chemical are now facing health issues like heart disease, diabetes and various types of cancer.

Many veterans we talked to didn't know just how toxic Agent Orange was and what kind of effects it would later have.

Tonight on KAKE News at 6 and 10, KAKE's Monica Castro will have two special pieces on the impacts to veterans and their families.
