ULYSSES, Kan. (KAKE) -

The KBI is investigating the death of a 1-year-old boy in southwest Kansas.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation said in a news release that officers with the Ulysses Police Department were called just before 11:30 a.m. last Monday to the report of an unresponsive toddler in the 800 block of North Stever Street.

After law enforcement and EMS arrived on scene, Jaxon Silva was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and was then flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Jaxon was declared brain dead as a result of his injuries on Friday, the release said. An autopsy will be conducted this week.

No arrests have been announced.

A GoFundMe page says Jaxon's parents chose do donate their son's organs. It says his liver went to a 1-year-old boy, his heart to another 1-year-old boy and his kidneys to a 53-year-old woman.

"When he smiled it was ear to ear and you could see all his teeth," the page says. " Loved going walking outside everyday. He touched so many lives in such a short time he was here on Earth. Now he is in Heaven with Jesus. He is a Hero."
