Man arrested for murder, DUI in deadly Kansas crash

GARDEN CITY, Kan. (KAKE) -

Police in Garden City say a 31-year-old man has been arrested for murder and driving under the influence in connection to a deadly crash on Saturday.

The crash happened just before 7 p.m. in the 2400 block of Fleming Street. The police department said in a news release that Bashir Omar was driving  a 2002 Jeep Liberty and rear-ended a motorcycle, causing it to crash.

The person on the motorcycle, 67-year-old Robert Becker, died at the scene. 

The release said Bashir showed signs of impairment. He was arrested for second-degree reckless murder, DUI and reckless driving.
