WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Air Capital Flyers is a nonprofit that started out small but has grown into the largest program in the state.

Glenn Jones is the program director and says more than 100 special athletes take part in all kinds of sports and activities.

"It does not matter if they're the 10-year-old athlete or the 60-year-old. They all strive to want to be involved in something," Jones said.

He said competitive sports can do that. along with seasonal games. The Wichita group also participates in regional and statewide events and the Special Olympics.

"The same requirements for us for the need and desire and drive and desire to be connected to something is the same thing we have with our athletes."
