Police: Woman robbed in Wichita grocery store parking lot

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita police say a woman was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of a local Dillons grocery store late Wednesday afternoon.

Officers were called at around 5 p.m. to the woman's home, where she told them she had been robbed at the Dillons at 3020 East Douglas. She said when she got to her car, a suspect approached and demanded her purse and wallet. 

Officer Charley Davidson said the man had pointed a black handgun and the victim and ran off after taking her purse.The woman was not hurt and went home to contact police.

The suspect was described a white man in his early 20s. He stands about 5-foot-6 and weighs approximately 150 pounds. He has brown hair and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants.
