CLAY CENTER, Kan. (KAKE) -

One driver was killed and another was hurt in a crash Wednesday evening in northern Kansas.

The accident happened just before 8 p.m. at the intersection of K-82 and K-15 in Clay County. That's about 11 miles south of Clay Center.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a Chevy Silverado was heading west on K-82 and failed to stop at a stop sign at K-15 and hit a Ford Taurus.

The driver of the Taurus, 57-year-old Mary Rowland of Longford, died at the scene.

Twenty-eight-year-old Zachary Howard was driving the pickup and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
