WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita police say two brothers arguing over fruit snacks led to a gun discharging and leaving two people with minor injuries.

Officers were called at around 9:15 p.m. Saturday to a shooting at an apartment complex in the 2200 block of South Oliver. Officer Charley Davidson said Monday morning that two brothers, ages 25 and 23, were fighting when the older of the two hit his younger brother in the back of the head with a handgun.

The gun discharged, striking the 23-year-old in the shoulder and a 36-year-old man in the leg. The suspect then fled the scene.

"Initially, they had argued about some fruit snacks," Officer Davidson said. "And there was, I believe, some other situation that had come up during the argument."

The two victims were treated for minor injuries.

Sedgwick County jail records show 25-year-old Tyler Wayne Lyon was booked Monday afternoon for aggravated battery, criminal possession of a firearm and aggravated child endangerment.

Davidson said there was a 2-year-old child in the apartment of the time of the incident. The suspect lives at the apartment with his 24-year-old girlfriend.
