Salina police investigate man's death as homicide

SALINA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Salina police say a 52-year-old man was found dead in a vehicle on Sunday and that they are investigating the case as a homicide. 

Officers were called at around 10:15 a.m. to the report of a dead person in a vehicle in the 700 block of Seneca Avenue. Officers found a silver 2003 Lincoln Town Car parked in a driveway. The body of Raul Lopez-Vargas, of Solomon, was inside. 

"We are working this case as a homicide and an autopsy will be completed," Salina Police Capt. Mike Sweeney said in a news release. "We are still in the early stages of this investigation so very little information can be released."
