Body of 19-year-old from Emporia found in burned vehicle

EMPORIA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Authorities in Lyon County say they are investigating the death of 19-year-old's whose body was found in a burned vehicle as a homicide.

Deputies in Lyon County were investigating a suspicious vehicle at around 10 a.m. last Wednesday near Road 160 and Road T, which is about five miles east of Emporia. The vehicle had been on fire and there was a body inside.

Sheriff Jeff Cope identified the victim as Jesus Avila-Galvin Jr., of Emporia. Cope did not release a cause of death.
