Authorities arrest Colorado fugitive days after Kansas chase

The Rice County Sheriff's Office says Michael Abbott was arrested at around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday. Additional details were not provided.

Authorities are searching for a suspect wanted out of Colorado following a chase in Rice County on Sunday.

Michael Edward Abbott, 48, who is wanted by authorities in Colorado, led a Rice County deputy on a brief chase Sunday night, according to a news release. He then took off on foot near the intersection of Silver and 9th Street in Geneseo.

“We have received some tips and searched all the outbuildings in the area,” Evans told the Salina Post Tuesday morning.

Abbott is described as six feet tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. He is listed as a fugitive with seven prior convictions, according to the Colorado Department of Corrections.

Anyone who sees Abbott is advised to not approach him and to call 911.
