NEWTON, Kan. (KAKE) -

Friends and strangers attended a candle light vigil for Alyssa Runyon and her four-year-old daughter, Zaylynn Paz.

The two were killed inside their Newton home earlier this week.

Friday night, more than 100 people spent about an hour comforting each other and remembering the girls.

The group released balloons and lanterns and prayed.

Friends say Paz was a happy child. Runyon's aunt, Penny Cyprety, says she will always remember Runyon's talent.

"I'll remember her for her for her voice. She has such a beautiful voice, a voice that I think she could've been a star," she said.

Family members tell KAKE News the funeral will be held Wednesday, but other details haven't been released.
