2 arrested after woman spots her stolen car in northeast Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Two people are in custody after a woman spotted her stolen vehicle in southeast Wichita.

Just after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, a woman called 911 to report she was following her stolen car on North Pershing, which stopped in a driveway near 9th Street. Officers arrived on scene and one person in the stolen vehicle ran. Another was arrested. 

Officer Charley Davidson said the suspect who ran was apprehended at 9th and Oliver.

No names were released.

A SWAT team was called to the scene, but it was determined they were not needed. 

One officer using his K9 fell and was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
