Man impaled by piece of wood at Hutchinson manufacturing plant

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KAKE) -

A man hospitalized after a piece of wood impaled him at a manufacturing plant in Hutchinson.

First responders were called just after 10 a.m. Monday to Woodwork Manufacturing at 400 South Adams. Sgt. David Maness tells the Hutch Post that a planer had kicked wood back toward the man and impaled his right side. 

The man was flown to a Wichita hospital for treatment.

Maness said he was conscious and talking, and he is expected to recover.
