Join KAKE-TV for the Great American Eclipse Watch Party

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

If you don't already have plans for the Great American Eclipse, join KAKE-TV on Monday, August 21 for the Great American Solar Eclipse Watch Party.

The party begins at 11 a.m. on the south lawn of the KAKE studios at 1500 North West Street. Just park at Dillons at 13th and West and come on over! 

Everything you need to know about the eclipse

We'll have music provided by iheart (ALT 107.3, The Bull 102.1, Channel 96.3 and B98), food trucks and much more. Dillons' representatives will be on hand to sell commemorative eclipse merchandise.

We will also have STEM activities provided by Mark Arts. And Wichita Spray Paint artist Leo Kiesling will be on site making/demonstrating eclipse art pieces. Embellished Fun Face Painting & Balloons will be making balloons for a fee. 

Please bring your eclipse glasses, blankets and chairs to sit on the beautiful yard of KAKE-TV studios. Please do not bring firearms, alcohol or pets. Security will be present at this family friendly historical event.

If you are unable to make it KAKE-TV will cut in live during the Eclipse from 12:45-1:15.

    Hutchinson authorities arrest man for arson

    A Hutchinson man has been arrested for arson. Police say a fire was reported Tuesday just before 10 p.m. at 9804 N. Lorraine. Fire investigators determined the fire was intentionally set at the home. Two days later, deputies arrested Justin Day for one count of arson. Authorities say the investigation is still ongoing and if you have information about the fire to contact the Reno County District Attorney’s Office.
