Missouri kidnapping suspects jailed in Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

A pair of Georgia men, suspected and on the run from a kidnapping in Missouri, have been jailed in Wichita following arrest in Western Kansas. 

Police in Cape Girardeau, Missouri say Christopher G. Smith, 47, and John C. Czarnecki, 53, both of Georgia were picked up just before 8 p.m. Friday by Kansas Highway Patrol troopers and U.S. Marshals. 

Both have been given felony charges for kidnapping, robbery and armed criminal action for their alleged role in the kidnapping of Sally McIntyre from a Cape Girardeau Wal-Mart parking lot June 15. 

Both men are shown as being held in Sedgwick County jail. Cape Girardeau police list their cash only bond at $1 million apiece. 

McIntyre, the kidnapping victim, has been located and is safe.

    Don't expect long lines if you want to see the newest Star Wars movie on this opening weekend. The theaters are packed, but it didn't take fans long to get in Thursday night at West Warren Theater in Wichita. Many fans came, but paid for their tickets online.
