Missing teen's remains found in Reno County

HAVEN, Kan. (KAKE) -

Authorities say they have found the remains of a 17-year-old Kansas girl who's been missing for nearly 9 months.

Laura Dorey was last seen the night of June 12 in Haven in Reno County. The sheriff's office says deputies and a coroner's investigator were called Saturday to a rural farm property north of Haven after the land owner found human remains.

A pathologist with the Sedgwick County Regional Forensic Science Center on Monday identified the remains as those of Laura Dorey. 

Police continue to ask for tips in search for Lucas Hernandez

The cause of her death is still under investigation.

Authorities are asking for help in finding a missing 16-year-old Kansas girl.

Laura Dorey was last seen at around 10 p.m. Monday in Haven in Reno County. Dorey is 5-foot-6, weighs between 120 and 130 pounds, has blue eyes and dishwater blonde hair. 

Kansas Missing & Unsolved said on Facebook that Dorey is chronically depressed and does not have her medication. 

The Reno County Sheriff's Office ask that anyone who sees Dorey call 911 immediately. Anyone with information can also call the sheriff's office at (620) 694-2735 or Crime Stoppers at (620) 694-2666.
