Wichita police say the pick-up truck owned by a man found stabbed to death Friday afternoon has been found, and police have detained two people for custody.

"I don't know gender or age or location of contacts," Sgt. Nikki Woodrow of the Wichita Police Dept. said in a statement. "No arrests at this time. Detectives are still working on this case, however (they) not looking for anyone else at this time."

Otto Meyer, 86, was found dead at a home in the 800 block of North Chautauqua around 3:40 p.m. Friday. When officers arrived they quickly noticed the multiple stab wounds.

James Tomes had lived across the street from Meyer's house for 30 years. He said there have been a lot of tenants come and go over the years.

On Friday afternoon, the day Meyer was murdered, he said he saw Meyer invite over a young couple to possibly come look at the house. That was the last time he saw Meyer.

The truck's description is as follows:

  • 1989 Chevy pickup truck
  • Two-toned with maroon on top and silver on bottom
  • It has an extended cab with a long bed
  • Kansas tag: 320 JWN

Woodrow said in a statement that this does not appear to be a random act.
