Nebraska man killed in Jewell County crash

JEWELL COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) -

A Nebraska man was killed Wednesday when he drove off a highway in Jewell County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported Frederick Dowling of Fairbury, 63, was driving his International truck west on U.S. 36 around 2:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, the truck crossed the highway near the community of Formoso, struck a field access drive, then went into the air and overturned.

Dowling was thrown out of the truck. He was declared dead at a hospital. No one else was hurt.
