Police: Homeless man beaten with bat near downtown Wichita

Wichita police are searching for three suspect after a homeless man was beaten with a baseball bat near downtown early Wednesday morning.

Officers and EMS were called around 1 a.m. to 1st Street and Waco. A 53-year-old man told officers he was under the bridge when three men approached and one of them hit him in the back of the head with a bat. 

The man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

One suspect was described as a Hispanic male about 20 years old. He stands six feet tall, weighs approximately 230 pounds and wore a maroon shirt and black sweatpants. Descriptions of the other two suspects were not provided.
