Son asks for help in father's murder

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Family of 56-year-old Stanislaus "Stan" Saiz are asking for the public's help in finding his killer.

"He died alone on one of his favorite holidays," said Antonio Saiz, victim's son.

His father was murdered on Easter Sunday in west Wichita.

Saiz said his father was not perfect and battled demons that took him back into prison for various thefts.

"It seemed like no matter what he did or what he went through, he never got hurt. Then all of a sudden for this on Easter Sunday," he said.

His father was shot multiple times while he was parked outside of a friend's home in the 600 block of North Edwards on Sunday around 1:30 a.m. He was able to get away but crashed his car into a hospital building.

Now, the family of Saiz are hoping someone knows something to help police solve his murder.

"I hope they feel the pain that we go through. They took him. They didn't even give him a chance to defend himself. I just hope that one day they sit back and they regret it," said Saiz.

Anyone with information about the city's 12th homicide on the year is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers at (316) 267-2111.
