2 arrested after high-speed chase, crash on Kansas Turnpike

Two men have been arrested following a high-speed chase and rollover crash on the Kansas Turnpike.

At around noon Monday, a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper attempted to stop a vehicle that was reported stolen out of Oklahoma. The northbound vehicle pulled to the right and began to stop near the Wellington exit, but it then took off at a high rate of speed.

Lt. John Lehnherr with the KHP's Turnpike division said speeds during the pursuit were between 100 and 120 miles-per-hour.

Units deployed stop sticks near the Haysville exit, deflating the vehicle's tires, but the vehicle kept going.

Lt. Lehnherr said the driver lost control on a curve while trying to exit at south Wichita. The stolen vehicle left the road and overturned.

The two men inside got out of the vehicle and attempted to run, but authorities quickly took them into custody. They were not hurt.

The suspects' identities were not released.
