The 26-year-old woman's body was found at around 7:40 a.m. Friday at South Seneca and Crawford Streets. That's at the Westway Shopping Center, which is just south of Pawnee.

Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said a person called 911 to report that someone was lying in the parking lot. Officers arrived and located the body of a woman in her late 20s.

Sgt. Woodrow said Friday afternoon that the victim died of a gunshot wound and police are investigating her death as a homicide. Her name was not released.

It's not known exactly where the shooting took place, and there are no suspects at this time, Woodrow said.
