WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

The Wichita woman accused of shooting and killing her boyfriend while in an SUV on a freeway ramp has been charged with second-degree murder.

Crystal Rotramel, 30, was charged earlier this week and had bonded out prior to her court appearance.

The shooting happened in the late morning hours of Sunday, February 5. Officers were called to a shooting at Kellogg and Meridian. Officers arrived and found the victim, 40-year-old Richard J. Hamm Jr., in the passenger seat of the SUV with a gunshot wound to the left side of his neck. Rotramel was sitting on the curb at the time.

Wichita Police Lt. Jeff Gilmore said the couple had been arguing throughout that week. They had been in a relationship for several months.

Rotramel's preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 7.
