WN Test Story

A Wichita police officer who Chief Gordon Ramsay was "purposely hit" Tuesday has received several honors during his career.

The police department released a biography of Officer Brian Arterburn late Wednesday. It noted he has served in the Patrol South Bureau since 1999. The awards Arterburn has received include:

  • 1995: Bronze Wreath of Merit
  • 1998: Bronze Wreath of Valor, lifesaving award
  • 2001: Officer of the Year
  • 2005: Silver Wreath of Valor

In addition, the biography said Arterburn has been active with Big Brothers-Big Sisters and Kansas Special Olympics projects.

"He's the kind of officer I would want to show up at my home if I was in need of help," Ramsay wrote on Facebook.
