WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Wichita Police said the first homicide of 2017 was not a random incident. Officers provided an update on Monday's shooting at 18th North and Market.

Police said cousins Bernardino and Andrew Ornelas were sitting in a vehicle when another vehicle approached and started shooting.

Bernardino Ornelas, 24, died from multiple gunshot wounds. Andrew, 25, suffered a serious gunshot wound.  He is undergoing treatment at a Wichita hospital.

Police described the shooting as a "targeted incident." There is no description of the suspects, but investigators are looking for an orange or red Chevy Avalanche last seen driving north on Market.
