OSHA investigates worker's death in southeast Kansas

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating after a 48-year old man died at a rural work site in southeast Kansas. 

The incident happened on Tuesday northwest of Cherryvale. OSHA officials say the worker was struck by a vehicle at a new natural gas pipeline construction site. His name was not released. 

"Colt Energy, Inc. is engaged in oil and gas exploration, development, and production and gas gathering in eastern Kansas, OSHA said in a news release. "The worksite is best described as a new natural gas pipeline construction site."

OSHA is working to determine if any violations of safety and health standards contributed to the incident. For information on the OSHA inspection process, click here.
