It’s a Wichita landmark. It’s outgrown its current location at 537 N. St. Francis. And some people are, well, nuts about it.

The Nifty Nut House business has been owned by the Jahn family for 79 years. Customers keep coming back for the wide variety of nuts, candies and treats.

“I say it's one of the three treasures that I think that Wichita has, that's kind of unlike any other place that I've seen,” Charles Wright said Wednesday while shopping at the store.

For some people who shop there, it reminds them of the candy stores of their childhood. “Coming here just takes me back,” says Joyce Byrd, a regular.

The new store will open next door by late October or early November, said owner Steven Jahn.  He promised it will have about 10,000 square feet of floor space, and be more user-friendly.

“We just keep continuing to grow, so, blessings from above,” Jahn said.
