WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Will Wichita aviation advance to the "Max"?

A group of aerospace executives hopes so. It announced the formation of the new MAX Aerostructures in Wichita Wednesday.

The business occupies 206,000 square feet on West Irving Street, near Bombardier Learjet. A statement from the company says it has room for expansion, controlling more than 12 acres of land.

Executive Vice President and General Manager Sean Purcell said MAX has "ample space to start and grow our manufacturing and assembly capabilities." The company says it has a chemical processing line and a heat-treating operation.
