WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

The ousted President of the Wichita local of the International Association of Machinists has been barred from holding any union office for five years.

IAM spokesman Frank Larkin told KAKE News Sunday night the punishment for Frank Molina Jr. was announced at the monthly meeting of Local 774 members Saturday. The news comes more than seven months after Molina was suspended, amid accusations that he overspent union funds.

"There was no discussion or speculation about what any outside agency may or may not do as a result," Larkin said in a statement. The Machinists admitted in April they had talked with the FBI and the U.S. Department of Labor about the case. Molina denied to KAKE News in February he stole any union money.

The Machinists' international headquarters took over the Wichita local in early February, placing it in trusteeship.
