Crime Stoppers: High-dollar construction theft

A high-dollar construction crime remains unsolved and Crime Stoppers is hoping security video can help lead them to the thieves who stole a $75,000 Caterpillar skid steer nearly three months ago.

"It's frustration," said Jesus Solis of PPJ Construction. "It's a big blow financially and for the morale of the workers."

Security video recorded Feb. 18 shows the suspects in action near Pawnee and Meridian. A man pulls up in a black Ford truck with a trailer. After surveying the scene, before getting in the skid steer and backing it up.

Police believe the man loaded up the skid steer onto the trailer and left the scene,

And leaving PPJ without their most prized piece of equipment.

"Everybody works hard to keep buying new stuff," Solis said. "To have it stolen is pretty frustrating."

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information in this case. You can call Crime Stoppers anonymously at (316) 267-2111.
