Crime Stoppers needs your help in solving QT attack on elderly man

Crime Stoppers is offering a large reward for help in solving the brutal attack on an elderly man at a Wichita Quik Trip.

Police say 67-year-old man stopped at the QT at Douglas and Washington early Wednesday morning. Shortly after, they say another man walked up to him in the restroom and hit him over the head with a piece of concrete or a rock.

The victim and his wife want to remain anonymous.

"I couldn't believe someone would do this to somebody else for no reason at all," said the victim's wife.

The victim suffered serious head injuries and a bleed on the brain. The suspect got away with a billfold, but left his mug on Quik Trip's security cameras.

"The picture we got is very clear," said Det. Wendy Hummell. "And honestly, I'm very surprised that we've not been able to identify him yet because it's such a good picture."

Wichita police and Crime Stoppers are hoping by offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 dollars, someone will anonymously call in a tip.

The victim is now home, but is still suffering from severe headaches. If you have information on this case, call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
