WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Habitat for Humanity is leading the way to build a home for an African family that fled from the Republic of Conga during a time of turmoil.

The Uwizeye family will have a permanent home in only a matter of days as 160 people work to get the home built in 9 days.

The home will be built on display at Riverfest in Wichita.

The soon-to-be homeowner says she is excited for the possibilities a new home will get her.

"I am very excited for that day to come, I am waiting for it with much pleasure and with a lot of joy," said Jolie Uwizeye.
