New charges in McConnell child sex case

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) -

Two new charges were added Tuesday to a case claiming teenage girls were abused at McConnell Air Force Base.

Prosecutors said Random Smith, 36, now faces five counts. The latest charges are that he possessed child pornography and tampered with a witness.

Smith was charged May 13 with aggravated sexual abuse involving girls between ages 12 and 17, as well as producing child porn. The sexual abuse counts could bring life in prison.
