KAKE Wins Three Emmys

October 23- Saturday night, the Heartland Chapter of the National Television Academy awarded KAKE TV three regional Emmy awards out of a possible six nominations. This is the second time in three years KAKE TV has won multiple Emmy awards. KAKE previously won two Emmys in 2004.
“Good Morning Kansas” won the Emmy for Morning Newscast: Medium Markets while “KAKE News at 10:00” won for Evening Newscast: Medium Markets.
Managing Meteorologist Jay Prater, CBM™ received his second regional Emmy win with an award for Set Design of the “KAKEland WeatherPlex”. He previously won a regional Emmy for best weathercast in 1999.
The Heartland chapter was founded in 1986 as a non-profit organization affiliated with the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). Over 550 television professionals in the five state region of Kansas, Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming & Oklahoma enjoy membership in the Academy.
