Abby Lippold joined the KAKE Sports Team in March, 2007.
Raised in northeast Wichita, Abby attended St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School and graduated from Wichita Heights High School.
Nice weather and aspirations of becoming a sports broadcaster took Abby 1000 miles west to Tempe, Arizona. During her time in the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, Abby held internships with MTV's "The Real World" and Fox Sports Net Arizona.
A Phoenix Suns fan all her life, the highlight of her time with FSN was not only interviewing Shawn Marion, but having him be the first athlete to point out how short she is. She knows he won't be the last.
Abby graduated from ASU with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications, a dual degree in both print and broadcast journalism.
Now back home in Wichita, Abby is thrilled to be able to spend time with her family and friends, again.
In her spare time, Abby enjoys watching and attending any and all sporting events, especially Shocker baseball games at the Eck. She also loves to run with her Irish Setter, Satchel Paige, read any non-fiction book from the "sports and fitness" aisle, listen to talk radio, and dream about sitting next to Scott Van Pelt at an anchor desk.
