Shane Ewing joined the KAKE Sports team in November 2011 as an anchor and reporter.
He comes to Wichita after a three years working in beautiful Montana, where he was a sports anchor/reporter at KXLF-TV in Butte, KBZK-TV in Bozeman, and KPAX-TV in Missoula. While in the Treasure State, he covered both schools at the center of one of the nation's longest running rivalries, the Montana Grizzlies and Montana State Bobcats. Shane's best times, though, came in Butte covering the now retired head coach of Montana Tech football, one of the greatest interview subjects in all of sports, Bob Green, who has been seen on ESPN for his hilarious "Greenisms."
Shane also served numerous times as host of the statewide Shodair Hospital telethon for the Children's Miracle Network and guest hosted the Miss Montana pageant. He was named runner-up for the Montana Broadcaster's Association Sportscaster of the Year Award, which was given to him by legendary broadcaster and Montana native, Brent Musburger.
Before starting a professional career in Montana, Shane lived in Philadelphia. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Temple University with a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Shane enjoys spending time out with his new Wichita friends, and watching on television any games/matches/rounds/scrums/tomfoolery that he can't fit into his sportscast.
Shane is excited to be covering the Wichita State basketball team as it ascends in nationwide popularity, but his favorite sport is baseball and he couldn't be happier to cover Gene Stephenson's team.
