Bryan Ramsdale is a multimedia journalist at KAKE News.
Bryan joined the station in 2011 as an intern and was eventually hired as a photographer in 2013. He moved in front of the camera in early 2014.
Bryan was raised on a farm in Sedgwick County and is a graduate of Norwich High School. He attended Wichita State University where he earned degrees in journalism and music in 2013. He is currently taking classes in an online program and is close to completing a third degree in meteorology.
As a farmer -- a job that often pits him against storm-damaged crops, washed out fences and drought-stricken land -- Bryan has a gained healthy respect for weather and meteorology. Like many Kansas farmers, he splits his time between working at his TV job and on the farm where he and his family grow wheat and raise cattle. His family has farmed the same land for four generations and Bryan takes great pride in continuing that legacy.
Bryan's path into journalism actually started in a roundabout way through his love of music. He started playing the piano at age five and is now an accomplished musician. While studying music at WSU, someone commented on his voice and how he might sound good on the radio. Bryan took that complement and ran with it, adding a second major and signing up for his first internship in radio at KFDI and a second internship at KAKE News.
