Jordan Shefte is the anchor of Good Morning Kansas Saturdays and reports for Good Morning Kansas during the week. She joined the KAKE news team in June 2012.
Prior to coming to Kansas, she worked as a reporter and substitute anchor at KHAS-TV in Hastings, Nebraska.
While Jordan grew up in the Cornhusker state, this is not her first time as a resident of Kansas. She attended college at Washburn University in Topeka, where she majored in Mass Media and Communication and minored in Leadership.
This is also where she got her first taste of news, anchoring the campus show WUCT News.
Jordan interned at KETV Newswatch 7 in Omaha, Nebraska, and earned valuable experience shadowing reporters in the field.
Before entering television news, soccer was Jordan's passion. She played her entire life, and went on to compete on the collegiate level for the Lady Blues. She started every game of her college career, and at the end of her senior year, she was honored as the Outstanding Senior Student Athlete.
She is excited to return to the Sunflower state and deliver the news to KAKEland.
"I have always been a very inquisitive person, so it seems natural that I would be drawn to journalism. I love the variety that reporting offers, and am excited to have an outlet for my writing," she said.
During her free time, Jordan enjoys spending time with her husband, Steve, and their puppy, Brix. She also likes to read, work out, visit family in Omaha, and her guilty pleasure is tuning in to reality TV shows.
