Jeff grew up in Haysville and is a graduate of Campus High School. He holds a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Wichita State University.

His career at KAKE began in 1997 as a part-time sports photographer. In July of 2000, he moved to Topeka, and became the weekend sports anchor for the ABC affiliate, KTKA channel 49. After a year in Topeka, he returned to his hometown as the weekend sports anchor at KAKE. In January of 2004, Jeff joined the KAKE news team. He co-anchors KAKE News at 6 and 10 with Susan Peters and KAKE News at 4 with Deb Farris.

On the desk for KAKE's live, continuous coverage of the BTK Serial Killer's arrest, arraignment, and sentencing, Jeff is one of only two television journalists to interview BTK, Dennis Rader while incarcerated at the Sedgwick County Jail. He won an Emmy for his contributions to KAKE's coverage of Rader's sentencing.

Jeff has been honored numerous times by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters for news reporting. He is also a 3-time Heartland Chapter Emmy award winner.

In his spare time, Jeff enjoys basketball, lifting weights, and landscaping. He also has a passion for bass fishing.
