Jeff grew up in Wichita and is a graduate of Campus High School. He holds a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Wichita State University.

His career at KAKE began in 1997 as a part-time sports photographer. In July of 2000, he moved to Topeka, and became the weekend sports anchor for the ABC affiliate, KTKA channel 49. After a year in Topeka, he returned to his hometown as the weekend sports anchor at KAKE. In January of 2004, Jeff joined the KAKE news team. He co-anchors KAKE News at 6 and 10 with Susan
Peters.

On the desk for KAKE's live, continuous coverage of the BTK serial killer's arrest, arraignment, and sentencing, Jeff is one of only two television journalists to interview Dennis Rader while incarcerated at the Sedgwick County Jail. He won an Emmy for his contributions to KAKE's coverage of Rader's sentencing.

Jeff is an active member of the American Red Cross Board of Directors. He also enjoys coming back to WSU often and speaking to young broadcast students at the Elliott School of Communications.

In his spare time, Jeff enjoys basketball, lifting weights, and keeping in shape. He also has a passion for bass fishing. A fisherman since the age of 2, Jeff spends his summer at Eureka Lake, looking for monster bass. At last check, Jeff has yet to catch anything that could be described as a "monster"
bass.
