Mike Iuen is a familiar face for anyone who rises early in Kansas. As co-anchor of KAKE’s top-rated news program “Good Morning Kansas” and “KAKE News at 11:30”, Mike’s been a part of the KAKE news team since 1991. In 2006, “Good Morning Kansas” won a Regional Emmy for Morning Newscast.

A veteran journalist, Mike graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor in Journalism degree. His career has taken him to KJAC in Port Arthur, Texas and WSVN in Miami, Florida before coming to Wichita.

In his early years with KAKE, Mike was a general assignment reporter, but proved valuable as someone who could perform multiple tasks in a newsroom. Mike has covered police, courts, business and aviation beats. He also was assignment editor for five years and has served as assistant news director, news director, producer and anchor.

Mike’s done volunteer work for the March of Dimes, Children’s Miracle Network, Muscular Dystrophy Association and Circle of Friends. He also enjoys working in the flower garden, traveling and photography.

Mike and his wife Maggie have a blended family of five children and two grandchildren.
