Susan Peters co-anchors KAKE News at Five, KAKE News at Six and KAKE News at Ten.
Susan anchored in Wichita for eight years before leaving Wichita in 1991 following her engagement to San Diego real estate developer Rob Snyder. After her move, she took an anchor position with KFMB, the CBS affiliate in San Diego.
Susan, her husband Rob, and daughter Nicole, moved back to Wichita in September 1995. Her on-air debut with KAKE News was in October 1995. Her second daughter, Jenna, was born in 1997.
Her broadcasting career includes numerous awards: 2006 Regional Emmy Award for Evening Newscast: Medium Markets, 1994 Emmy Award for a news series on organ transplant, 1994 "Golden Mic Award" for organ transplant series, 1994 "Best Reporter Award" from San Diego Press Club, 1993 "Best Community Service Series" San Diego Press Club, 1993 San Diego County Medical Society Award for stories on children's health, Associated Press - Best Reporting in Kansas, UPI Awards - Best Reporting in Illinois, Kansas Association of Broadcasters - numerous awards.
Susan is also known for her work in the community. She has contributed her talents to many charities including: Children's Hospital, Salvation Army, Futures for Adolescents, March of Dimes, Leukemia Society, Center for Children, San Diego Blood Bank
Susan has a communications degree from Western Illinois University, and began her career at WHOI-TV the ABC affiliate in Peoria, Illinois.
